Salini signs the 1.7 billion euro contract for Copenhagen’s new metro

Pietro Salini, CEO of Salini Costruttori today signed the contract for the construction of Copenhagen’s new metro as Leader of the Copenhagen Metro Team which includes two other Italian companies Tecnimont and Seli. An official ceremony was held in the Danish capital in the presence of many authorities including the Metroselskabet Board and the Italian Ambassador in Denmark Carlo Tripepi, as well as the media. The value of the contract is €1.7 billion. Works will commence this month and will be completed in 2018.

Salini Costruttori as leader of the CMT consortium has been awarded the contract to build Cityringen, the new metro line in Copenhagen, with 17 new stations to be built by 2018. This result was announced on 24th November by the Board of Directors of Metroselskabet, the Danish client. The new metro will be one of the most modern transport systems in the world. The contract award is further affirmation of the ability of Italian companies to compete in terms of technical expertise and excellence in markets throughout the world.
